NOTES: A “panzer mast” is a steel pole/tower that can be used for a variety of applications. Its use as the title of this song brings a ship’s crow’s nest to mind.
虎の子 = とらのこ = lit. tiger’s cub; an expression for “treasure” just as tigers are said to treasure their young
雲割り船を浮かべて = both myself and kafka were unable to quite transcribe what 雲割り actually is. It does indeed sound like くもわり, but it doesn’t make much sense. I’ve translated that line quite liberally.
